Blood Pressure Monitoring

Blood Pressure Monitoring

High blood pressure is a silent disease. There are no symptoms or warning signs that your blood pressure might be high. Therefore it is important that you monitor your blood pressure on a regular basis. If your blood pressure is not controlled it can lead to a heart attack, stroke, heart failure or kidney disease.

Blood pressure is recorded as systolic (the pressure inside the artery as a pulse of blood arrives from the heart) over diastolic (the resting pressure inside the artery between pulses). A normal blood pressure reading is considered to be around 120/80.

We offer our blood pressure monitoring service to all our customers. We will take your blood pressure, then record it on your own personal record and provide you with a print out to take to your doctor on your next visit.

Each time you come in we will add to your record so that you can see a full history of your readings.

Your blood pressure may be high if you:
-Are overweight
-Drink more than two standard alcoholic drinks a day
-Smoke
-Have a diet high in salt
-Have a family history
-Have diabetes
-Are experiencing chronic stress
